Sylvie Allouche majored in philosophy, but also studied science and literature. She is currently a doctoral student at the Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University and IHPST/ENS/CNRS (History and philosophy of science and technology institute), writing a thesis on the philosophical issues surrounding the use of biotechnology on the human body in science fiction. She was a lecturer at the Paris 8 and Lyon 1 Universities, and at the Collegium Eötvös of the ELTE University in Budapest. She is currently co-managing the inter-university programme called “L’amélioration humaine” (human enhancement) (Paris 1 and Paris Descartes).
