"Les Gardiens" Vincent Lévy
Living-art
The Les Gardiens installation comes in the shape of a group portrait, showing 5 people from their chest up against a white background, and projected so that the characters appear in their actual size. The characters are animated; they behave collectively, as a group, but also according to their own “personality”. They sense the presence of spectators and react according to the quality of the spectators’ attitude.
With this installation, Vincent Lévy explores the notion of symbolic territory, placing spectators in the position of “strangers”, “visitors”, coming face to face with these “gardiens” (wardens) as they arrive.
